Here are some tweaks I found really helped out on polar aligning my Meade SuperWedge. This upper photo shows the replacement of all the hex bolts with thumbscrews and a steel washer / nylon washer
combination, both on the sides and on the bottom.
On the azimuth adjustment, I found that there was too much play in the center pin. How I solved it was removing the pin and filing the sides flat, then adding a stainless steel nut on each side and
holding them there with a gob of epoxy.
