I wrote a software control program for the Optec TCF-S. Although the focuser is extremely well-built and works great, I was surprised that it didn't come with any software. Here is a screen-grab from the program.

I wanted to be able to control it from my computer at a distance from the scope. Also, there are features such as reading the actual temperature that are inaccessable from the handbox. 

I wrote this in Visual Basic over the course of about a week. The most important areas are knowing the position of the focuser, being able to move it in or out by specified amounts, and being able to quickly center it and also to move it to the zero position (as far in as possible).
