NGC 2024, the Flame Nebula, is located in the constellation Orion, next to the westernmost of the three stars in Orion's belt, Alnitak, shining brightly in the lower right corner. Taken from my backyard in Corona del Mar on January 2, 2001. LRGB; 20, 15, 15, 15 minute each. Meade LX-200 10" f/10 with 6.3 focal reducer.
