I enjoy wide-field imaging with my CCD camera and Nikon lenses, but wanted to be able to use it with a color filter wheel and control it all from a computer. There is no room to put a lens bayonet behind the cover of the filter wheel, where it needs to go to focus a lens. What I was able to do, though, was to perminently attach a 2x tele-extender to a replacement filter wheel cover so that I could easily attach different lenses to the rig, and ended up with the advantage of doubling the power, too! So my usual 80mm to 200mm lens is now a 160mm to 400mm f/5.6 lens, which is just about perfect for most of my imaging. I also have a 17mm to 35mm lens for it, also.

Here is a photo of the front of the unit with the 2x tele-extender attached.

Here is the back of the unit. It is actually rather simple to build.

Here is the unit installed on the CCD with filter wheel to an 80mm to 200mm zoom lens.
